Freida Pinto could soon join the ranks of Halle Berry, Ursula Andress and Honor Blackman as the new Bond girl – the Slumdog Millionaire star has reportedly been invited to audition for the next 007 movie.

Casting directors considered the Indian actress for 2008’s Quantum Of Solace – but picked Ukrainian model Olga Kurylenko after deciding Pinto was too young for the role, reports Britain’s The Sun.

Now executive producer Barbara Broccoli is said to be hoping to convince Pinto to screen test for the next superspy installment.  A source tells the publication,

“Freida came to the attention of the Bond team when they were casting Quantum Of Solace. She was too young at the time to play a love interest for a secret agent. But she is ready now.
She has blossomed into an incredibly stunning young woman and would look perfect on Daniel Craig’s arm.”

Filmmaker Danny Boyle, who directed Pinto in Slumdog Millionaire, announced earlier this month he would not direct the next secret agent blockbuster – despite being a huge fan of the franchise.
